====== Turnsheets ====== =====Introduction===== Once per turn you'll have an opportunity to submit a turnsheet detailing one major thing that your character plans to get up to between turns((Plus several minor things)). These are called 'major' and 'minor actions'. Player characters will get one major action, plus unlimited minor actions, per turn. Each turn's turnsheet can be accessed from your user page (link at top of screen). To open up the turnsheet template for the given game turn, select that turnsheet and click the 'Create this page' button. Please follow the format indicated on the turnsheet template. =====Some Extra Practicalities==== * A turnsheet period represents the same amount of time in character as it does out of character((Likewise, the time in the year that each turnsheet occurs will correspond to dates in real life)). For the most part this will be a little over a week. The GM team will notify players if the IC period of time across a turnsheet is different to this. This means that the timeframe over which your character will perform their actions will usually be about one week - the same time as passes OC from turnsheet to turnsheet. * For each turnsheet, you will have one major action. This will represent the bulk of your character's focus between turns. Daily activities e.g. going to school, checking in to the office, etc., can be assumed to be happening alongside this. Unless relevant, there's no need to include that information in a turnsheet. * On top of that, you can submit any number of minor actions. Having said that, the GMs reserve the right not to respond to all of them. If it's something that you're expecting more than a sentence in response for, it may not qualify as a minor action. Ask the GMs if you're in doubt. * Once per turnsheet, you can also choose to spread a rumour in your minor actions. How successful this is will vary but there's always someone out there who's paying attention. Someone who's watching. Waiting. Noting.((That someone may or may not include a bunch of bored teenagers on their parents' computers)) * The deadline for turnsheeting each week is 11.59AM on the Tuesday of uptime (list of uptimes can be found on the [[new_to_roleplaying|Introduction page]]). Deadlines are strict - GMs will start processing responses the following day. If you think you might need an extension, [[gm@cryptonet.chaosdeathfish.com|email the GMs]] to let us know. We'll see what we can do. * Twice in the game you will have the opportunity to pick a new Pro to add to the ones you had at game start. This will be part of Turnsheet 3 and Turnsheet 6. These should relate in some way to what your character has been involved in, something they could have conceivably improved upon, etc. It's not likely that they'll suddenly become a martial arts master just by hacking the mainframe((Although certain films may disagree on that point)). * During the game you may also acquire resources or assets((Including making friends with NPCs)). These should also be mentioned if applicable to your action. To cement their usefulness more permanently, you must spend a point to make them a Pro, either in Turn 3 or Turn 6's character advancement. * Please be aware that you may acquire a Con as a result of your actions. Appropriate roleplay and investing time to mitigate the issue can remove this problem. ===== Example Turnsheet ===== ===== Major Action ===== === Aim === Find out the source of all these fish in my plumbing and deal with it. === Details / Plan === Something fishy's going on and it's starting to get old. Every time I run a bath I find a different fish at the bottom of the tub. When I try washing my hands I get slapped with goldfish. And don't even get me //started// on the garden hose. This has to stop and I'm gonna be the one to stop it. I'm going to use my amateur handyman know-how to get to work on the plumbing. First I'll see if there's anything that obviously doesn't belong (like a fish tank in the wall), then I'll use some of my savings to replace the pipes myself because dammit I know what I'm doing and I don't trust anyone else to do this for me. That's how I think this happened in the first place. And if I find more fish in the pipes I'm replacing, I'll use my cooking skills to see if they're edible. In the meantime, my CN pal Beth is going to investigate the //last// plumber who looked at these pipes. I'll send her the plumber's details and give her some tips about this guy to help her break in while he's out. After we're both done, if I've found some edible fish in my pipes I'll cook up a nice thank you meal to have with Beth. === Pros / Cons / Resources === * Basic DIY - For investigating and replacing my pipes * Life savings - To help fund my plumbing project * Cookery - For identifying fish and/or making a nice fishy meal === Other Characters Involved === * Beth * That dodgy plumber ===== Minor Actions ===== * Send catropolis99 that weird dog picture I found last week. Email didn't work so I'll use their postal address. * This fish thing has really gotten to me so I'm spreading a rumour that fish schools are no joke - they're definitely learning //something// and whatever it is can't be any good. Sounds pretty plausible to me.
