Subject 0908 - Julia Trawler

Subject 0908 - Julia Trawler Activity Report 1997-Present

“I always thought Ms Trawler was terribly reserved, but when she was my DT teacher in Year 13 it turned out she was way cooler than I thought. I know you didn't want me to take A-Level DT, but honestly it was some of the best time I had at school… with all the bullying and stuff, it was so nice to be in a peaceful environment like that…

“There's no way you'll believe me, but I swear there was some kind of creature in her office, in a cupboard. She only showed it to us once, and the class was so packed I barely even got a glimpse of what it looked like, but I saw it had paper-white skin and long fingers. We were allowed to feed it little drawings, and we scattered them into the cupboard like fish food. It was so weird! But I also genuinely learned a lot. We were all encouraged to push the boundaries of what we could make and challenge ourselves, and the workshop was always open as long as Ms Trawler was supervising. We were even taught about the history of design, and how maths and physics and stuff is involved in it too…”
Excerpts from e-mail correspondence between Eva Gillespie, known to have attended sixth form at LOCATION WITHHELD, and father Simon Gillespie

Subject continues to teach at LOCATION WITHHELD in the department of Design and Technology. It is known that, at one point, she and Subject 3326 [Anna Sullivan] had individual job offers extended to them from other personnel at the Institute; however, neither accepted. Threat level of the Subject themselves should be treated as low, with the caveat that the Subject has assumed wardenship of an Idea Creature which lives on school grounds. Nonetheless, it should be accepted that the Subject approaches the guardianship of the Creature with seriousness and responsibility, and after an incident inside the workshop which briefly drew public eye on a small scale it is recommended that interference with the Creature should be minimal in case of another accident.

It should also be noted that several year groups taught by the Subject have since left school and pursued various forms of higher education. Indeed, a not-insignificant number of these students are now in degrees and employment conducive to careers in design and/or engineering. In correspondence many suggest absolute belief in the paranormal, with some citing the Idea Creature directly. Reports of the Subject's ability as educator remain glowing by those in past contact, though skepticism of surrounding community remains a balancing factor. In future, possibility exists that previous students will collectively draw attention to existence of Idea Creature and other phenomena. Recommended that these students in turn be observed, though it is also understood that this could become a drain on staff and resources. Regardless, it is recommended that a more active observation programme should be attached to Subject 0908A [Charlie Orchard], both because of their talent (which could make them a serious asset to the Institute in later life) and their connection to the Subject.

Though the Subject has declined the offer of working alongside us, could still prove to be an asset for the Institute as time goes on, especially given their non-hostile relationship with the operative T. Thame (frequently observed to be “up and coming” colloquially by colleagues at the Institute). Observation continues.
